Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a Food Service Worker to join the Support Services Team at Kootenay Boundary Hospital in Trail, BC. If you are a reliable, flexible and motivated individual, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The role involves portioning and serving meals, weighing ingredients, washing produce, assembling beverages and food items, delivering meal carts, and maintaining clean service areas. Casual hours apply with days shifts and varied times.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent required.
• Food Safe Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Portioning and serving meals and beverages in dining room or cafeteria.
• Counts, weighs and measures ingredients for food preparation area.
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit.
• Assembles beverages and food items - tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, Meals on Wheels items.
• Setting up and delivering meal carts.
• Cleaning of food service areas.

About the Job

• Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation.
• Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area.
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit.
• Assembles beverages and food items - tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, items for Meals on Wheels program.
• Setting up and delivering meal carts.
• Cleaning of food service areas.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be days rotating from 06:20 to 14:31, 06:20 to 14:20, 12:15 to 19:15 hours.
