Food Service Worker II, Retail Food Services

The Food Service Worker II performs various duties including cash handling, food preparation, customer service, and order accuracy checks. The role involves assisting customers, escalating concerns as needed to Food Services Supervisor or Manager.


What you'll do
  • Process and prepare food and beverage orders, operate cash registers, and ensure order accuracy.
  • Handle cash transactions, perform cash counts, and prepare reports.
  • Serve food and beverages, prepare and deliver catering orders.
  • Unpack deliveries, restock, and store food following safety and rotation procedures.
  • Follow recipes and standards for food preparation and merchandising.
  • Clean and sanitize all furniture and equipment.
  • Manage waste and maintain cleanliness of waste containers.

What you bring

Qualifications:

  • Grade 10 plus one year of recent related experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate in Food Safe Level 1.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples' history, impacts of settler colonialism, and commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility.
  • Understanding of systemic racism, health disparities, and legislative obligations related to Indigenous rights and anti-racism.

Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism, and initiatives to promote safety and belonging.
  • Awareness of social, economic, and political realities affecting Indigenous Peoples and equity groups.
