Job summary

Aramark is hiring a full-time Food Service Supervisor to join the Dalhousie University team in Halifax, NS. You will supervise daily on-floor operations, oversee staff, and assist with production planning and cost controls, all while upholding food safety and HACCP standards.

The role requires leadership experience, a background in food services, and the ability to recruit, train, and schedule staff in a fast-paced campus environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' leadership experience
• 1+ years' food services experience
• Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
• Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Flexible schedule with some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations for the food service on the floor
• Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns
• Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management and record keeping
• Proactively manage food and labour cost controls
• Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and shifts
• Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, and deposits
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are followed
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate as needed
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
• Follow all safety, health, wage and hour regulations
