Job summary

Aramark is hiring a full-time Food Service Supervisor for the Dockside Dining Hall at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. You will oversee daily dining operations, lead staff, and partner with the on-site manager to optimize food production and labor costs.

You will enforce food safety standards, mentor team members, and support recruitment, training, and scheduling while maintaining a safe, compliant environment for guests and employees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' leadership experience required.
• 1+ years' food services experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset.
• Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Flexible schedule with some evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations for the food service and operations on the floor.
• Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns.
• Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management and record keeping.
• Proactively manage food and labour cost controls.
• Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed.
• Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, Safe and verify Deposits.
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed.
• Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary.
• Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees.
• Follow all policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, health, wage and hour.
