Location: Kemptville, ON
Position: Food Service Supervisor, Full Time, 75 Hours Bi-Weekly

As a pivotal member of this team, you will prepare the meals that sustain our residents! Are you ready to get started?

Southbridge Care Homes is currently looking to expand our Food Services department in the Eastern Ontario Region. We are looking for a Food Services Supervisor to join our enthusiastic team. Reporting to the Executive Director and General Managers, the Food Services Supervisor is responsible for managing and handling all the operations of the food service department and ensures to satisfy the nutritional needs of our beloved residents. You will be responsible for handling inventory, budget, and team operations of the locations.

You will be accountable for…

  1. Provide amazing dietary services to the residents of the home by planning, organizing and executing the tasks in a timely manner.
  2. Maintain proper quality standards by examining dietary requirements and food production operations ensuring excellent services provided as per the legislative requirements.
  3. Encourage teamwork and assist in collaborating team operations by motivating, encouraging, and training coworkers and staff.
  4. Handle audit of the kitchen standards ensuring compliance with public health requirements.
  5. Maintain proper records of the inventory and menu management ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  6. Build and maintain rapport with residents, families, staff, and other stakeholders to regulate workplace operations smoothly.
  7. Assist management by contributing to preparing the departmental budget.
  8. Other duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  1. Post-secondary education and the successful completion of a recognized Food Services and Nutrition Management or relevant program required.
  2. Two or more years of Dietary Management in a long-term care setting required.
  3. Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietician required.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  6. Strong leadership experience and skills preferred but not mandatory.
  7. Bilingualism – English and French is considered an asset.
