Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals while ensuring quality and presentation. You will perform prep work, stock, and maintain strict food safety standards in a healthcare/hospital, hotel or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, handling cashier duties, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. English communication is essential and prior food service experience is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Experience using a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Good command of English, verbal and written, and ability to follow instructions.
• Experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
• Physical ability to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase daily.
• Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portions.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
