Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals with emphasis on quality and presentation. The role covers prep work, cashiering, helping in multiple retail areas, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Ideal candidates have FoodSafe Level 1, strong English skills, and prior food service experience. Ability to work independently or in a team, with a focus on efficiency and safety, is required.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, cut and seed fruits and vegetables as needed.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to/from work stations, stove and fridge following safety standards.
• Store food properly with wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow recipes and production standards to ensure quality, temperature control and portion sizes.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner and follow service steps.
• Address customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance across all areas.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
