Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Compliance Manager to lead FSQA initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites in Cambridge, ON. You will drive regulatory compliance, maintain the Quality Management System, partner with Corporate and Operations, and act as the subject matter expert for food regulations and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in food safety and QA in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FSQA initiatives across multiple facilities.
  • Develop and improve the Quality Management System for regulatory compliance.
  • Standardize programs with site FSQA teams and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee internal audits, CAPA, supplier quality, document control, traceability, recalls.
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Provide guidance on food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as SME for domestic and international food regulations and labeling.
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, investigations, and compliance activities.
  • Manage QA data, supplier management, and ERP master data.
  • Support product development and labeling with regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver FSQA training and share best practices across sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada's largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Compliance Manager to join our P&H Milling team. In this role, you will support food safety and quality assurance initiatives across our manufacturing sites by partnering with Corporate and Operations teams. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance, tools, and best practices to drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers.

Day to Day
  • Lead and support corporate food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with BRCGS, CFIA, FDA, customer, and internal requirements.
  • Partner with site FSQA teams to standardize programs, drive continuous improvement, manage risk, and strengthen food safety culture across the organization.
  • Oversee internal audit programs, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), supplier quality, document control, traceability, and recall readiness.
  • Monitor and analyze quality, food safety, and compliance metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on food safety, quality, pest control, foreign material prevention, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for domestic and international food regulations, ensuring policies, procedures, labels, and product claims remain compliant.
  • Act as a key liaison with regulatory agencies, customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders, supporting inspections, audits, investigations, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee quality systems related to specifications, ingredient approvals, supplier management, data integrity, and ERP master data.
  • Support product development, labeling and commercialization activities by ensuring regulatory compliance and customer expectations are met.
  • Develop and deliver FSQA training programs while fostering knowledge sharing and best practices across manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and achieve company food safety, quality, and regulatory objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, with 5+ years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems, regulatory compliance, and BRCGS standards; HACCP, PCQI, Internal Auditor, Project Management, and Six Sigma certifications are considered assets.
  • Proven ability to lead audits, manage quality systems, assess risk, drive continuous improvement, and support regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience developing procedures, delivering training, and working cross-functionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; ERP system experience is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as required and work in both office and plant environments.
