Responsibilities
Tasks
- Enforce government acts and regulations
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Inspect processing methods
- Inspect products to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Prepare reports
- Examine storage, handling and transportation equipment to ensure that sanitary procedures are followed
- Inspect the cleanliness and practices of establishment employees
- Investigate consumer and trade complaints
- Determine the size of food portions and costs
