Job summary

Shearer’s Foods in North America seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain plant systems and equipment in a food manufacturing setting. This role requires hands-on expertise with electromechanical and hydraulic machinery and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair work, and timely responses to production issues on a rotating shift.

Qualifications

Post-Secondary Education or Apprenticeship in a mechanical trade.
2 years’ experience as a field service technician or field repair technician. Food manufacturing experience a plus.
Experience in food processing facilities preferred.
Strong proven skills in automation and troubleshooting.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Welding will be considered an asset.
Willingness to work a rotating shift and some extended hours/weekends.

Responsibilities

Inspect and examine machinery (conveyors, packers, seasoners, sensors, VFDs, etc.).
Perform maintenance tasks according to work orders (cleaning, lubrication, inspection, etc.).
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
Dismantling machines using hand or power tools (hammers, crowbars, wrenches).
Repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
Service, calibrate, regulate, and test machines and equipment.
