Job summary

Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead banquet events and restaurant outlets, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. You’ll coach Team Members, manage operations, and collaborate with the Banquet Manager to uphold service excellence and financial controls.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic hotel environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Food & Beverage supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience managing large events (banquets) is advantageous.
  • Valid Food Handler Certification.
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and Team Member development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage operations and basic financial controls.

What will I be doing?

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will play an important role in delivering outstanding service across banquet events and food and beverage outlets. You will support the Banquet Manager in overseeing banquet operations while also providing leadership and floor supervision in restaurant outlets as needed. This position requires a hands‑on leader who is committed to developing Team Members, maintaining service excellence, and supporting operational efficiency.

  • Supporting the Banquet Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of banquet and catering events.
  • Providing operational leadership and supervision within restaurant outlets as required to support overall Food & Beverage operations.
  • Assisting in the implementation of training programs to ensure high service standards and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting Team Members to drive engagement, productivity, and performance.
  • Monitoring service delivery and providing ongoing guidance to ensure successful banquet functions and outlet operations.
  • Assisting with performance reviews and development discussions for Team Members under your responsibility.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and concerns in a timely, professional, and service‑oriented manner.
  • Supporting departmental objectives, budgets, scheduling, policies, and procedures.
  • Working within established financial guidelines and contributing to departmental profitability.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Steward to manage inventory, control costs, and minimize loss and breakage of china, glassware, silverware, and related equipment.
  • Inspecting banquet spaces, public areas, and service areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping and Engineering to maintain high standards throughout all event and outlet spaces.
  • Supporting menu implementation and collaborating with the Food & Beverage leadership team on guest offerings and service initiatives.
  • Participating in monthly inventory counts and stock management processes.
  • Supporting revenue‑driving initiatives and encouraging Team Members to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all hotel policies, health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and fire and security procedures.
  • Building positive working relationships with Team Members across all hotel departments and providing support wherever needed.

What are we looking for?

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of Food & Beverage supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in banquet operations, restaurants, or hospitality environments.
  • Previous experience managing large events (500+ guests)
  • Valid Food Handler Certification
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and Team Member development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of operational situations and business demands.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and basic financial controls.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in both banquet and restaurant environments.
  • Knowledge of hospitality point‑of‑sale and financial systems.
  • Post‑secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Passion for learning and developing both self and others.
