Blau & Associates oversees the Food and Beverage operations at Parq Vancouver, including The Victor. The Victor offers a classic North American Steak & Seafood experience with a contemporary, seasonally inspired menu featuring Pacific Northwest Seafood and a selection of specialty steaks. The venue boasts an elegant bar with premium libations, innovative cocktails, and an extensive wine and champagne list. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Restaurant Manager will provide leadership and be responsible for all front-of-house operations, including a la carte dining, catering, group sales, and beverage functions. You will oversee staff and collaborate closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Food & Beverage Director. Responsibilities also include budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring the financial performance of the facility.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for:

  • Setting objectives for beverage service and bartenders
  • Staff scheduling and recruitment
  • Performance management and coaching
  • Staff training and development
  • Inventory management
  • Delegating tasks to meet objectives
  • Maintaining quality and service standards
  • Communicating policies and procedures
  • Managing staff to meet standards
  • Overseeing beverage presentation and customer complaints
  • Monitoring cleanliness and hygiene
  • Cash-up procedures and paperwork
  • Stock control and liaising with suppliers
  • Procurement and delivery checks
  • Stock rotation and wastage reduction
  • Bar display management
  • Budget management and cost control
  • Maximizing sales and revenue through promotional activities
  • Financial reporting
  • Implementing product and service improvements
  • Staff communication and meetings
  • Staying compliant with legislation
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of F&B management and supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Extensive F&B knowledge and operational judgment
  • Catering or banquet experience is a plus
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including managing VIP clients
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
