We are looking for a passionate FULL-TIME FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR to contribute to our restaurant operations, elevate our dining offerings, and deliver outstanding culinary experiences at our Lakeshore location. Under the director of the Director of Food & Beverage, the Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a critical role in the planning, organizing and evaluating all aspects of the Bistro operations. They will maintain appropriate levels of inventory to ensure that all orders delivered to bistro patrons are at top quality and build professional relationships with the bistro members through consistent communication and presence.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the line cooks to develop innovative recipes and menu items that align with current food trends and customer preferences
  • Participate in food preparation as needed, ensuring that all dishes meet quality and presentation standards
  • Train staff in proper cooking techniques and plating to maintain consistency and excellence
  • Ensure that the Bistro is clean and well-organized, maintaining all areas to the highest hygiene standards
  • Implement best practices for cleanliness that comply with health regulations
  • Adhere strictly to all Health and Safety regulations as set by provincial legislation, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and patrons
  • Perform regular inspections of food storage areas, kitchen equipment, and dining spaces to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Address any issues promptly to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules for kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and that cleaning tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Manage customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, using insights to make improvements and enhance overall satisfaction
  • Foster a positive dining experience by ensuring all customer concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage while optimizing labor costs
  • Train, supervise, and motivate team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Process payroll for all Bistro team members, confirming worked hours and processing overtime in compliance with company policies
  • Oversee the ordering of food and beverage supplies, ensuring that all purchases are within budget and meet quality standards
  • Maintain an organized inventory system to track stock levels and manage waste effectively
  • Review and verify invoices from suppliers to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints
  • Manage cash floats and petty cash for the Bistro, maintaining accountability and adherence to financial controls
  • Take responsibility for the daily, monthly, and annual reconciliation of billing, ensuring accuracy in financial records
  • Collaborate with management to develop and adhere to the Bistro budget, analyzing spending patterns and making recommendations for cost-saving measures without compromising quality
  • Regularly analyze market conditions and assess their impact on Bistro operations, using insights to adjust strategies and stay competitive
  • Plan and coordinate special events, such as themed dinners, wine tastings, or private parties
  • Collaborate with management to design menus, manage logistics, and ensure seamless execution of events
  • Work with the marketing team to promote upcoming events through various channels, ensuring maximum participation and engagement
  • Other tasks as required
What You Need to Be Successful
  • Minimum 3-5 years' work experience in a F&B management role, preferably within diverse restaurants venues and concepts, i.e., banquets, a-la-carte, buffest services, both in casual and upscale properties
  • Completed or working towards post-secondary education in Culinary Arts, Hospitality & Horticulture and / or Cook's Trade Certificate is an asset
  • Previous culinary experience in a full-service restaurant or bar with strong culinary production skills
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • Smart Serve Certification is required
  • Food Handler Certification is required
  • Must be computer literate and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to manage P&L in a Restaurant / Bistro setting
  • Previous experience with product costing / inventory and staffing costs
  • Familiar with Alcohol and Food Service regulations, laws, and practices
  • Ability to work as a leader with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent communication with Club Manager and head office
  • Valid driver's license in good standing and vehicle to be used to travel to store / LCBO / Beer store if required in-between main inventory deliveries, in order to maintain adequate inventory levels in peak or unexpected times
  • Knowledge of Square for sales and inventory purposes is an asset
  • Back of the house experience is an asset
