Job summary

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is seeking a Food-Service Attendant in Banff, Canada. This role includes engaging guests, serving beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The ideal candidate will have previous hospitality experience and Alberta ProServe certification.

This is a unionized hourly position, offering $15.84 per hour for up to 37.5 hours weekly on a flexible schedule. Additional benefits include staff housing options, an Employee Assistance Program, and discounts at onsite facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of Alberta ProServe certification required.

Specific Accountabilities

• Positively engage our guests

• Set tables, stock bus stations and any pre-banquet set-up required
• Clear tables, tear down banquet stations, tidy up spaces
• Take payment where applicable

Qualification and Educational Requirements

• Previous hospitality experience as a food-service attendant or in a related customer-service focused area
• Completion of Alberta ProServe certification
• Able to work under minimal supervision while providing excellent customer service
• Enjoys interacting with a diverse group of people (artists, leadership participants, conference delegates, etc.)
• Budgets and organizes their time proactively to provide consistent and enjoyable service
• Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

Special Requirements

• Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends
• Due to liquor license requirements, only candidates 18 years and older can be considered for this position

Employment Terms & Benefits

• In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500-hour probationary period.
• This position pays $15.84 per hour working up to 37.5 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
