Job summary

Vista 18 Restaurant & Lounge atop Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites in Victoria seeks a Floor Manager. The role supports the Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager in daily operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and adherence to BC liquor regulations.

The candidate will lead a service team, contribute to cost and labour controls, and collaborate on promotions and events while maintaining high service standards. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of Supervisory experience in a comparable establishment.
• Desire to lead a team to deliver a positive guest experience.
• Experience with Silverware and OpenTable is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of food and beverage outlets with Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager.
• Lead service team to provide exceptional guest service while ensuring policy compliance.
• Assist in meeting cost and labour goals as directed by management.
• Engage guests and resolve issues related to quality, service or ambiance.
• Participate in training and performance management of employees.
• Collaborate on promotions or events on site.
• Attend meetings and provide feedback to improve service quality.
• Report maintenance or equipment deficiencies promptly to management.
• Manage and program POS systems.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Posting: Floor Manager – Vista 18 Restaurant & Lounge

About Us:

Perched atop the locally owned and operated Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites, Vista 18 Restaurant & Lounge is Victoria’s only rooftop restaurant, offering guests breathtaking views alongside a locally inspired culinary experience. For over 25 years, Vista 18 has been a proud part of the Victoria culinary scene and is known for its warm hospitality, exceptional food, and relaxed upscale atmosphere. We are currently seeking a Floor Manager to support our team with passion, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset.

Reporting to:Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Manager

Shift Requirements:40 hours a week, must be available evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation:Expected wage rate is $25 - $27.00 an hour. Starting pay is based upon experience.

Main Duties Include:

• Support the Restaurant Manager and the F&B Manager in overseeing daily operations of the food and beverage outlets.
• Promote and lead the service team with the goal of providing an exceptional guest service experience while ensuring that all policies and standards are being met. This includes regulations outlined in the BC Liquor Control Act.
• Assist in meeting cost and labour goals as outlined by the management team.
• Engage guests and address any issues involving quality, service or ambiance.
• Work with the Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager in the development, training, and performance management of employees.
• Collaborate and participate in the development and execution of any promotions or events on site.
• Participate in meetings related to operations and provide feedback or suggestions to improve the quality and/or efficiency of service.
• Report to the Restaurant Manager and the F&B Manager about any maintenance or equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Management and programming of POS systems.
• Other duties or projects as required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum one years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a comparable establishment and will exhibit a desire to lead a team in providing a positive experience to our guests. Previous experience with Silverware and Open table considered an asset.
