Job summary
CBI Home Health is seeking a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) / CCAT in Nova Scotia to support clients in Halifax, Bedford, Sackville, and surrounding communities. The role provides ADL/iADL care, medication assistance, mobility support and coordination with the health care team.
The position offers a flexible schedule with full-time and part-time opportunities, paid orientation, benefits, and ongoing learning.
Qualifications
- Must have a CCA certificate from Seniors and Long-Term Care Nova Scotia or equivalency determined by the Health Association of Nova Scotia (HANS) or working on it.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal support activities with ADLs and/or iADLs to individuals in their homes and other community locations.
- Assist with administering medications as directed by registered healthcare professionals.
- Assist with daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, bathing, meal planning and preparation.
- Check and record patients’ vital signs (temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
- Help with patient mobility, prescribed exercises and transfers.
- Collaborate with health care team and family/caregiver.
- Report safety concerns or abuse to a supervisor as required by law.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families and coordinators; note changes to the plan of care.
