Job summary

VON Canada is seeking a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) to provide person-centred care in clients' homes in Richmond County, Nova Scotia. This 1.0 FTE regular role offers evenings with weekend rotation and requires travel between client homes to support daily living and independence.

You will help develop care plans, assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and light housekeeping while collaborating with healthcare teams and ensuring a safe home environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) certification.
• Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with own vehicle and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in their homes.
• Assist with developing the client care plan.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support mobility and transfers for safety and comfort.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals; light housekeeping.
• Offer respite care to families.
• Monitor and maintain a safe home environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams; perform other duties as assigned.
