Job summary

Langs Bus Lines Limited is seeking a Shop Supervisor to lead the Newbury garage team in Southwestern Ontario. This role involves supervising shop personnel, coordinating repairs, and guiding on-the-road breakdown support for both electric and conventional diesel buses.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of mechanical experience, a 310T or 310S licence (dual certification a plus), and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Cummins INSITE and Navistar Diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and lists using prescribed formats.
• Apply rational systems to diagnose and repair electrical and generating systems in vehicles.
• Thorough knowledge of school bus operation and maintenance, including electric vehicle tech and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in vehicular repair shops.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience.
• Valid 310T or 310S licence. Dual certification is an asset.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software such as Cummins INSITE, Navistar Diagnostics, Allison DOC, Diamond Logic, Meritor WABCO, and Cetaris is an asset.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clean Driver's Abstract; willing to undergo Criminal Records Check if asked.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, supervise, and assist shop personnel in the assigned garage; schedule and assign work; provide on-the-job instruction.
• Assist with on-the-road vehicle breakdown situations.
• Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose engine, brake, and electrical components using onboard systems and diagnostic software.
• Requisition parts and enter work orders; document parts usage and repair time.
• Support maintenance for electric and diesel vehicles; monitor charging infrastructure and ensure safe high-voltage work practices.
