Job summary

Southland Transportation in Medicine Hat seeks a Lead Hand to coordinate daily maintenance in our shop. You will ensure work orders meet standards, supervise maintenance staff, and drive safety and efficiency across our fleet.

The role requires an Automotive Journeyperson ticket; CVIP is an asset. We offer competitive wages, ongoing training, and a supportive team environment within modern facilities and a large fleet of alternative fuel buses.

Qualifications

• Automotive Journeyperson ticket is required.
• CVIP license is an asset.
• Southland will provide training for CVIP and maintenance procedures; Blue SealCertification support is offered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day shop maintenance activities within budget and policy.
• Train new employees in safe and productive procedures.
• Maintain accurate work orders and communicate with dispatch.
• Monitor shop productivity and safety; manage equipment and manpower.
• Schedule maintenance and inspections to balance operations and downtime.
