Job summary

City of Thunder Bay is seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to provide technical guidance and hands-on maintenance for a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The role involves diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance under the supervision of the Fleet Supervisor.

Qualified candidates will hold a 310T certificate and have 5+ years of diesel/gasoline experience, with 310S certification preferred. Valid Ontario G license and a strong safety mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Certificate of Qualification as a Truck and Coach Technician (310T).
• Five years’ current experience as a certified mechanic in diesel and gasoline engines.
• Additional valid Certificate of Qualification as an Automotive Service Technician (310S) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures preparation and completion of all documentation related to division operations as assigned by the supervisor.
• Participates in developing and implementing repair prioritization and preventative maintenance programs.
• Participates in developing tenders for equipment and completes inspection upon delivery.
