Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a unionized maintenance team and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for our Ready-Mix fleet and related equipment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will coordinate with Operations, Safety, drivers, and vendors to ensure safe, reliable operations and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, a solid background in fleet maintenance, and a proven track record in safety compliance and cost

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial/operational environment.
• Ability to lead employees, set priorities, and manage daily maintenance activities.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Comfortable using digital systems to monitor maintenance activities and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, reliable operation of Ready-Mix fleet and equipment.
• Direct daily activities of unionized mechanics; assign work and priorities.
• Manage preventive maintenance program and on-schedule inspections.
• Coordinate repairs with external vendors and approve actions.
• Monitor fleet condition and maintenance trends for optimization.
• Review driver inspection reports and address issues promptly.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks; promote a safety-focused culture.
• Oversee purchasing of parts, supplies, and external services.
• Control costs within budgets and company guidelines.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
