Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America seeks a Cement Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance at our cement manufacturing facility. You will supervise skilled trades, coordinate maintenance activities, and drive equipment reliability in a safety-focused environment.

Based in our Ontario facility, you will partner with operations and engineering, participate in outages and on-call rotations, and mentor a team to improve asset performance and safety.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on and safety-focused Cement Maintenance Supervisor to support maintenance operations at our cement manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading skilled trades personnel, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring equipment reliability to support safe and efficient plant operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance.

Lead, coach, and develop maintenance employees while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve asset performance.

Collaborate with operations, engineering, and contractor teams to plan and execute maintenance work efficiently.

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that enhance safety, reliability, and operational effectiveness.

What Are We Looking For

Demonstrated ability to lead maintenance teams in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, cement, mining, or related environment.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance practices, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.

Proven commitment to safety leadership and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Effective planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.

Primarily based in a cement manufacturing facility with exposure to industrial equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, heights, and varying weather conditions.

Requires frequent field presence, equipment inspections, and interaction with maintenance and operations personnel.

May require participation in plant outages, emergency maintenance situations, and occasional work outside standard business hours.

Participate in the on-call standby rotation and respond to emergency equipment failures and operational breakdowns as required
