Job summary

CapWest Build is seeking a Traffic Control professional to join our Vancouver-based construction team as a Flagger. You’ll manage vehicular flow in work zones year-round, reading traffic management plans and performing field audits with support training provided by Onni.

You will ensure safe detours and clear signals, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining organized equipment and adhering to weather-exposed outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Traffic Management Manual.
• Valid TCP Certificate.
• Outdoor work at construction sites in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Reads and manages traffic management plans.
• Performs traffic management field audits.
• Distributes traffic control signs and markers along the site in designated patterns.
• Controls traffic through the site using signs, hand signals and flags.
• Warns workers when drivers do not heed signals to prevent accidents.
• Informs drivers of detour routes through construction zones.
• Provides high levels of customer service with on-time arrivals and well-managed work zones.
• Keeps equipment organized and in working order.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Traffic Control professional, you will be responsible for providing traffic control in Vancouver work zones year-round. Onni will provide you with the training and knowledge needed to ensure regulations and procedures are properly carried out.

What Will You Do?

• Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Ability to read and manage traffic management plans.
• Ability to perform traffic management field audits.
• Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern.
• Controls movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
• Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers.
• Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers. Includes on-time arrival and well managed work zones.
• Keep equipment well organized and in working order.
• Other Duties not listed may apply.

What You Bring.

• Work is performed outdoors at construction sites dealing with inclement weather.
• Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required.
• Proper lifting techniques required which may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Require standing for long periods of time.
