Job summary

Onni Group of Companies is seeking a Flagger to join the construction team in Coquitlam. You will provide year-round traffic control in work zones and will receive training to ensure compliance with regulations. This role is outdoors and requires readiness for varied weather conditions.

You will read traffic management plans, manage field audits, and ensure safe, efficient traffic flow with customer-focused service. Training is provided by Onni to support regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Traffic Management Manual.
• Valid TCP Certificate.
• Outdoor work at construction sites and variable weather.

Responsibilities

• Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Reads and manages traffic management plans.
• Performs traffic management field audits.
• Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site per pattern.
• Controls traffic using signs, hands, and flags.
• Warns workers if drivers ignore signals to prevent accidents.
• Informs drivers of detour routes through sites.
• Provides high level customer service with on-time arrivals and well-managed zones.
• Keeps equipment organized and in working order.
• Performs other duties as needed.

As a Traffic Control professional, you will be responsible for providing traffic control in Coquitlam work zones year-round. Onni will provide you with the training and knowledge needed to ensure regulations and procedures are properly carried out.

What Will You Do?

• Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Ability to read and manage traffic management plans.
• Ability to perform traffic management field audits.
• Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern.
• Controls movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
• Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers.
• Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers. Includes on-time arrival and well managed work zones.
• Keep equipment well organized and in working order.
• Other Duties not listed may apply.

What You Bring.

• Valid TCP Certificate
• Work is performed outdoors at construction sites dealing with inclement weather.
• Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required.
• Proper lifting techniques required which may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Require standing for long periods of time.
