Parkland County Fire Services is hiring a Firefighter (Paid-on-Call). You will respond to emergencies such as fires, medical first responses, vehicle incidents, alarms and hazards, while also engaging in training and public education. Recruits attend orientation and initial training on set dates.
Ideal candidates have a high-school diploma, are 18+, and can work independently or in teams. Knowledge of firefighting techniques is an asset; proficiency in MS Office and reporting is expected.

Working within Parkland County Fire Services and reporting to the Station Captain, the Firefighter is a paid-on-call first responder who responds to emergency incidents such as (but not limited to): fires, medical first responses, motor vehicle incidents, alarm calls, hazardous material incidents, water incidents, rescue incidents and rail incidents when available. This position will also participate in regular training, public education, preventative maintenance, and other duties as required. We are recruiting for Fire Stations in Acheson, Parkland Village, Tomahawk, and Wabamun.
Successful candidates are required to attend and complete all mandatory orientation and initial recruit training as a condition of joining Parkland County Fire Services. Please ensure you are available for all dates listed below before submitting your application, as alternate dates will not be offered. Attendance on all scheduled dates below is mandatory.
Formal recruit training continues throughout the year. Following the mandatory initial training, recruits will have opportunities to continue progressing through the training program based on their individual goals and availability.
