Reporting to a Fire Captain or Station Chief, Paid Per Call Firefighters help with extinguishing fires, performing rescues, providing medical aid, and handling other fire and life safety duties. They're expected to respond quickly, work efficiently, and stay safe in situations that can be dangerous. They also help with fire prevention, public safety education, and protecting lives and property. Day-to-day work includes keeping the station, vehicles and equipment in good shape.
