Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a service technician to support Fire & Life Safety systems for commercial clients in Calgary. The role involves diagnosing, servicing, and inspecting electrical fire alarm systems at customer sites, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, updating service records, and collaborating with district staff to ensure customer satisfaction. On-call rotation and potential mentorship are included.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.
• Valid CFAA Certification.
• Experience inspecting and maintaining fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Experience reading blueprints and submittals.
• Knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters and commissioning devices.

Responsibilities

• Receive and triage service calls from the Service Resource Center.
• Service, troubleshoot, inspect, test, and verify Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose problems and perform service, repairs, testing, and inspections.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and product manuals to support service actions.
• Document service actions with proper coding on devices.
• Obtain customer signatures upon completion of service.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation.
• Mentor junior team members as needed.
