J.D. Irving, Limited (Chandler – Alarm and Communications) seeks a Fire Alarm Technician responsible for installation projects, inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems across the region.

The role requires at least 5 years in fire alarm installations, a Grade 12 certificate, and a valid driver's license with a clean record. Travel within the region and rotating shifts are expected, with safety and accuracy emphasized in reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in Fire Alarm installations.
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Graduation from a recognized Electronics Program is considered an asset.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends, holidays and emergency situations.
• Must have a clean criminal record and a valid Driver's license.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background check.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, assembly, programming set-up and verification of new fire alarm systems.
• Inspection, service and troubleshooting of existing Fire Alarm systems.
• Working knowledge of CAN/ULC standards S524, S536 and S537.
• Experience in programming fire panels.
• Capable of preparing thorough reports and inspection documentation.
• Knowledge of various fire systems and use of specialized test tools.

Chandler –Alarm and Communications is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician who is responsible for installation projects, inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire alarms systems.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, assembly, programming set-up and verification of new fire alarm systems
• Inspection, service and troubleshooting of existing Fire Alarm systems
• Working knowledge of CAN/ULC standards S524, S536 and S537
• CFAA certified would be an asset but not necessary
• Capable of preparing thorough reports and inspection documentation
• Experience in programming fire panels.
• Knowledge of various fire systems;
• Use of specialized test tools.
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and lifts, in attics and crawl spaces, as well as to lift 50+ lbs.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong focus on excellent customer service.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with Special Hazards Suppression System would be an asset.
