J.D. Irving, Limited in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a full-time Delivery Driver to safely operate a 5-ton delivery truck on regular routes, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure on-time deliveries with high accuracy.

You will load and unload at customer sites, maintain records, and provide courteous service while upholding safety and quality standards. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required, with a competitive wage and benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 5-ton delivery truck on routes and follow laws.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for safety.
• Prepare the truck for delivery, load, weight distribution, and paperwork.
• Deliver on schedule with accuracy and care.
• Load/unload at customer sites using proper techniques and PPE.
• Provide professional customer service during deliveries.
• Plan routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and safety.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and maintain logs.
• Return delivery documentation to the branch for records.
• Assist with warehouse or branch duties when possible.

Chandler is currently searching for a dynamic individual to be our fulltime Delivery Driver at our Dartmouth NS location.

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform repetitive, manual material handling without restriction requiring (but not limited to) the following physical abilities: kneeling, bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
• Must demonstrate the strength and aerobic capacity required for the above-mentioned work up to 8 hours each day
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 5‑ton delivery truck in accordance with all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare the truck for delivery, including secure loading, weight distribution, and completion of required paperwork, to prevent product damage.
• Complete deliveries on regularly scheduled routes, meeting delivery timelines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and care.
• Safely load and unload materials at customer sites using appropriate handling techniques and personal protective equipment.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service during all deliveries, representing Chandler positively at customer locations.
• Plan routes and daily schedules to optimize efficiency while maintaining safety and delivery commitments.
• Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report mechanical issues or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, mileage records, and required logs.
• Return completed and signed delivery documentation to the branch for record‑keeping and billing purposes.
• Assist with ad hoc warehouse or branch duties as assigned when delivery schedules permit.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and possess a clean driving record
• Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent or Trade Certificate
• Required to complete a security background check for special clearances
• Ability to multi-task effectively with attention to accuracy and detail
• Excellent people skills with a “Can Do” attitude
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, along with basic computer knowledge

Salary Range offered $44,561.00 to $59,535.00
