Job summary

Maersk in Mississauga is seeking a FinOps Business Partner to link operational execution with financial performance across our Canadian Landside Transportation business. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required.
  • Experience in financial operations, FP&A, or business partnering.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability, and cost controls.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or related operations preferred.
  • Strong systems knowledge including SAP, Trinium, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Drive billing, revenue realization, revenue reconciliation, and invoicing.
  • Monitor open jobs and unbilled revenue to accelerate revenue recognition.
  • Conduct profitability, CM1, and margin analysis to identify risks and improvements.
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, procurement activities, and cost control.
  • Manage AP/AR workflows, aging balances, and purchase orders.
  • Partner with operations to identify process gaps and improve financial performance.
  • Develop KPI reporting and financial insights for leadership decisions.

About the role

As a FinOps Business Partner, you will serve as the critical link between operational execution and financial performance for our Canadian Landside Transportation business. Based in Mississauga, you will partner closely with Operations, Product, Business Development, Procurement, Vendor Management, and senior leadership teams to drive revenue realization, profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency. This is a highly visible role that requires a strong commercial and analytical mindset, enabling you to translate operational activities into meaningful financial outcomes while driving process improvements and supporting strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive accurate and timely billing, revenue realization, revenue reconciliation, and invoice generation activities.
  • Monitor open jobs, unbilled revenue, and billing cycle performance to accelerate revenue recognition and cash collection.
  • Conduct profitability, CM1, and margin analysis to identify business risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, procurement activities, vendor management, and cost actualization processes.
  • Manage AP/AR workflows, aging balances, purchase orders, and financial issue resolution with customers and vendors.
  • Partner with operational teams to identify process gaps and improve financial and operational performance.
  • Develop KPI reporting and financial insights to support leadership decision‑making and strategic initiatives.
Who Are We Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience in financial operations, FP&A, accounting, business partnering, or operational finance environments.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability management, and cost controls.
  • Experience working within transportation, logistics, supply chain, trucking, drayage, or similar operational environments preferred.
  • Strong systems knowledge, including SAP, Trinium, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable financial platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a data‑driven approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Self‑starter mentality with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive improvements independently.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functions including Operations, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance teams.
Additional Information
  • Job Type: Full‑Time
  • Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (On‑site - 5 days a week)
  • Travel Expectations: Limited travel (approximately 5% or less) within Canada as business needs require.

  • Salary: CAD $100,000 - $110,000* (The stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary and may be adjusted based on market conditions, experience, and qualifications. Final compensation will be discussed directly with the selected candidate(s) in compliance with applicable laws.)
