Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a Production Labourer (Utility Person) to work in the finishing area of the rolling mill. You will ensure quality steel bars are prepared and packaged to meet customer needs.

The role involves operating cranes and forklifts, assisting with equipment setup, and performing tasks safely in a fast-paced, indoor industrial environment. Shifts rotate days and nights; full participation in a unionized, labour-intensive setting is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Physically able to perform labour-intensive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Handle, sort, stack and bundle finished products and scrap materials.
• Inspect finished bar product during processing.
• Tag and inventory finished product using weighing systems.
• Assist machine operators with setup and troubleshooting.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklift.
• Follow safety rules.
