Job summary

Global Cellulose Fibers is seeking a Finished Products Operator to join the Grande Prairie Pulp Mill team. You will safely form pulp sheets, cut, package and load products for shipment by rail or truck, operating equipment from cutters to clamps and performing lab tests as needed.

This rotating 12-hour shift combines day and night schedules with 14/28 rotations. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, training and opportunities for advancement within a world-class facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work.
  • Demonstrated safety awareness and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely form a pulp sheet, cut, package and load product for shipment by rail or truck.
  • Operate high-speed cutter, bale line, presses, stacker and clamp trucks; potentially run a pulp machine.
  • Perform basic equipment care and run lab tests as required.
  • Maintain safety, quality and production standards in a 24-hour operation.
  • Contribute to team goals and participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support for site firefighting and EMR-related tasks as trained.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Finished Products Operator is responsible for safely forming a pulp sheet, cutting, preparing, packaging and loading the product on either railcars or trucks to ship the product to our customers. You will operate a high-speed cutter, bale line, presses, stacker, clamp trucks, a locomotive, run lab tests, perform basic equipment care and potentially run a pulp machine.

This is a team-based position that works in a structured learning environment to meet production goals. Team members must be improvement focused, willing to work toward unit goals and find achieving results rewarding. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment and enjoy routine expectations.

The Grande Prairie mill is an 1100+ tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill, employees approximately 400 mill employees in a 24-hour operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
