Job summary

Speers Construction Inc. is a rapidly growing civil construction company in Revelstoke, BC, that is part of Jim Dent Construction.

We are seeking a heavy equipment excavator operator to join our Revelstoke team on multiple civil projects across British Columbia. The ideal candidate has experience operating excavators, is physically fit, willing to work shifts, holds a Class 5 license, and can read drawings.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavators is required.
  • Finishing skill is an asset.
  • Experience in heavy construction is an asset.
  • Physically fit to perform duties and willing to do shift work.
  • Class 5 License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-shift check & completion of Mobile Equipment Check List.
  • Warm up and refueling prior to start of workday.
  • Keep windows, any mirrors, and lights clean & free of any items obscuring visibility.
  • Maintain operable fire extinguishers, fire tools, shovel & Pulaski on machine.
  • Maintain daily logbook of machine hours.
  • Immediately notify supervisor and/or site mechanic of any problems.
  • Be familiar with environmental spill response procedures.
  • Operators must be familiar with and able to read documents commonly used with their equipment, such as design details and drawings.
  • Be familiar with & understand project’s Environmental Response Plan and company’s environmental objectives, rules, and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner according to Provincial regulations and site safety standards.

We are currently looking for a heavy equipment excavator operator to assist our construction team in Revelstoke.The successful candidate will be an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have the training and confidence to aid the construction team in projects.
