Job summary

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily operate 15-35T excavators and other equipment to perform civil work
  • Fill out and understand an equipment logbook
  • Perform daily basic service and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Interprets verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators, ground personnel and Labourers, and acts accordingly
  • Recognize existing and potential hazards and know how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards and assessing any tasks before starting
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner be willing to comply with Ledcor’s safety commitments

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators and various other heavy equipment
  • Demonstrate skills and experience with finish grade work
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid government photo ID (driver’s license, passport etc.)
  • Client online orientations must be completed

Work Conditions:

  • Position commencing as soon as possible
  • Work schedule: 4 days on, and 3 days off plus statutory holidays off, 40 hours per week
  • Extended health benefits provided by CLAC
  • This is a local position—candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton area. No camp accommodation or travel allowances provided
