Job summary

Sodexo Group in Toronto, Downtown, is seeking a kitchen professional to prepare meals to high standards and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure guests receive top-quality food. This role supports line prep, organization, and inventory control across Fine Dining and Event services.

The candidate should have cooking experience, a culinary background, and strong communication. The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to sanitation rules, and potential nights depending on shift needs.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant is an asset.
• Culinary diploma/degree is an asset.
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Positive attitude and direct communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for Fine Dining and Event sections and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure guests receive high-quality food items.
• Organize day’s prepping, line setup and prepping for the restaurant.
• Monitor inventory, advise supervisor of low items and assist with receiving and stock checks.
• Maintain sanitation standards meeting health board and hotel requirements.
• Assist in training kitchen staff and ensure duties are performed during shifts.
• Promote teamwork and coordinate with Banquets, Outlets and Guest Services.
