This position is for a financial specialist to support the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology (WCNT), which includes the Nanoscale Fabrication Center (NFC), the Soft Materials Characterization Laboratory (SMCL), the Nanoscale Imaging and Analysis Center (NIAC), and the Jun and Sandy Lee Wisconsin Structures and Materials Testing Laboratory. The centers support a broad range of research across UW-Madison by students, staff, faculty, and by external academic and industry users. The financial specialist will provide financial support to WCNT staff as well as internal and external users of the facilities. Duties will include center billing, budgeting, tracking revenue and expenses by center and instrument, preparing purchase orders and assisting staff with purchasing and travel reimbursements. This position reports to the WCNT Director.

Required
H.S. Diploma
Preferred
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree
Required:
- HS diploma with three years of relevant experience in business, accounting, or finance
- Professional level and highly efficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, and levels of education
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work independently with limited supervision
Preferred:
- Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with 1 year of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of WISER/Workday, UW Purchasing, and other UW financial systems
- Experience with purchasing, travel, records management, and financial policies
- Experience working with complex automated accounting systems and processes
8:00 to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Full Time: 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
The anticipated hybrid work schedule will be up to two days remote, with 3 days onsite after an initial training period.
