Job summary

Kawartha Credit Union Limited in Bracebridge, ON is seeking a Financial Services Representative to support retail lending and mutual funds, helping members achieve their personal financial goals. The role involves interviewing members, processing loans, and offering financial advice.

Travel to branches in the Northern District may be required. The position is full-time on-site at Bracebridge, with a compensation package aligned to market data and a strong living-wage commitment.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with emphasis in business or financial planning would be an asset.
  • A minimum of two years’ comprehensive experience in consumer lending.
  • Advanced member service and sales skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Mutual Funds License is preferred; or a commitment to obtaining within 6 months of start date.
  • Willingness to complete additional educational components as required.

Responsibilities

  • Take on a dual role specializing in retail lending and a focus on mutual funds, recommending solutions to achieve members’ financial objectives.
  • Anticipate and determine the needs of members. Transact requests or refer the member to the suitable service area.
  • Conduct member interviews (personal loans, lines-of-credit and mortgages), and support the full personal lending process; including documentation preparation, credit analysis & payout.
  • Adjudicate credit applications that are within assigned lending limits.
  • Provide needs-based advice, counselling members on financial matters such as family budgeting, credit management and investment/retirement planning.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with members by providing excellent member service.
  • Travel to and support branches within the Northern District on an as-needed basis.

Location: Bracebridge, ON

Hours:37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday

Rate of Pay: $46,824.44 - $81,802.76 annually

Compensation:

Compensation for this position is determined by skills, experience, and education. It is aligned with the location's market data, as well as internal equity. Candidates whose qualifications more closely align with the job requirements may be placed higher within the compensation range. This role may be filled at different levels, the successful candidate will be placed accordingly based on their experience. We welcome applicants with a financial services background who are looking to grow into an advisory role.
