Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller to lead our finance team and ensure the financial health of our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of accounting principles and a passion for the technology sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Manage the annual financial review process.

Accounting Operations

• Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, including sales tax filings and corporate tax calculations.
• Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring and vendor payments.
• Process payroll and employee payroll documentation.

Internal Controls and Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in management.
• Strong understanding of ASPE and IFRS.
• Experience in the technology or travel industry is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Netsuite, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in English and French.
