This role will report directly to the Executive Management (or a designated executive leader) and will work closely with other departments to ensure optimal alignment with strategic priorities.

To be more specific, here's what you'll be doing:

1. Operational management and compliance (35%)
  • Supervise all accounting activities (auditing of books, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, remittances), ensuring their compliance with standards and efficiency.
  • Optimize accounting processes and internal controls to strengthen their performance and compliance.
  • Manage the preparation of files for annual accounting audits and anticipate issues.
  • Collaborate with external legal and tax partners to ensure compliance and identify optimization opportunities.

2. Financial analysis and reporting (30%)

  • Transform financial data into strategic analyses to guide business decisions.
  • Identify and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide financial and organizational priorities.
  • Manage risks related to accounts receivable in collaboration with a credit insurer.
  • Advise on merger or acquisition opportunities and assess their financial impacts.

3. Strategic Vision and Budget Management (25%)

  • Actively participate in annual, quarterly and weekly strategic planning with the executive team, providing a financial perspective to guide business decisions.
  • Provide variance analyses and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  • Support management in investment projects by conducting profitability analyses.
  • Define and coordinate a strategy to access external grants and funding.

4. Leadership and Team Management (15%)

  • Develop and drive the strategic vision of the administration and finance department to support Dialekta in its growth.
  • Supervise and motivate an accounting team by setting ambitious objectives and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Supervise payroll management and optimize processes to maximize efficiency.

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Hold a CPA designation.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent training.
  • Have relevant experience in the field, ideally 5 to 7 years in a similar position.
  • Demonstrate rigor, integrity and organizational skills.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • An ease in integrating and a team spirit oriented towards collaboration.
  • Excellent mastery of spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel).
  • Autonomy, proactivity and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Bilingualism in French/English, oral and written.

What you already have or are motivated to develop:

  • Experience with tools such as QuickBooks, EmployeurD, or in group insurance management.
  • A good understanding of Quebec and Canadian tax obligations.
  • A thorough knowledge (or an interest in mastering) of accounting standards such as NCECF, GAAP, or other similar frameworks.
