About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Accounting, and working within a team of 7, the successful candidate will play a key role in the Technical Accounting team, supporting corporate finance and reporting functions. The role involves drafting and implementing accounting policies, contributing to process improvements, and managing routine technical accounting processes.

Additional responsibilities include assisting in preparing internal and external reports, supporting financial statement close cycles, and ensuring compliance with company policies and controls.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and implementing corporate-wide accounting policies, including standards for new standards.
• Researching new accounting standards and drafting relevant policy papers.
• Reviewing contracts for technical accounting implications.
• Maintaining technical accounting workbooks for key processes.
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and audit requests.
• Collaborating with divisional finance teams on complex transactions and ensuring IFRS compliance.

Requirements

• CPA or CPA, CA designation or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or public companies.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, with US GAAP experience as an asset.
• Experience with financial close processes and public company accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems like JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and OneStream.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to a team environment.
