Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth is seeking a Financial Analyst, Funded Programs, to manage financial administration, reporting, and claims for government-funded contracts. You will work with program managers to ensure accurate reporting, timely forecasts, and compliant expenditures.

Reporting to the Controller, you will monitor contract spending, prepare statements, and support audits while maintaining detailed documentation and strong internal controls within a not-for-profit environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration required, accounting major preferred.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience working with government-funded programs; ASNPO knowledge is an asset.
• Experience with contract administration and financial reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret contracts and funding terms; monitor compliance.
• Prepare financial claims, reports, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Budgeting, forecasts, and variance analyses for funded programs.
• Provide financial guidance to managers and collaborate with staff.
• Support audits, documentation, and internal control improvements.
