Job summary

The YMCA of Three Rivers in Cambridge is seeking a seasoned finance leader to oversee audit, internal controls, and financial reporting. You will lead a team, partner with operations, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you will help ensure compliance, strengthen financial stewardship, and support the YMCA’s strategic objectives in Waterloo Region and surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting, audit, and financial management experience.
• 5+ years of proven people leadership, coaching, and development.
• Experience coordinating external audits and preparing working papers.
• Not-for-profit accounting knowledge and regulatory compliance experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and partner with operational leaders to guide decisions.
• Lead external audit processes and serve as primary liaison with auditors.
• Coordinate audit planning, working papers, and year-end financial statements.
• Improve internal controls, policies, and finance processes.
• Support month-end close, regulatory reporting, and governance activities.
