Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our Toronto-area team. You will analyze monthly results, build Power BI dashboards, support budgets and forecasts, and deliver actionable insights to management.

The ideal candidate has about 5 years of experience in financial accounting or analysis, is CPA in progress or completed, and can work with complex data. GTA residency required; relocation not mentioned.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting or financial analysis.
• CPA qualification in progress or completed is a must.
• Power BI is a must.

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly financial results vs. budget, prior year, forecast and trends; explain variances.
• Prepare management reporting packages and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain financial models and Power BI dashboards.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis, and long-term planning.
• Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analysis for management decisions.
• Participate in month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and auditor requests.
• Perform other related responsibilities and projects as assigned.

• Analyze monthly financial results against budget, prior year, forecast, and historical trends; investigate unusual results, identify errors and performance drivers, and explain significant variances.
• Prepare management reporting packages, financial and operational metrics, and performance dashboards.
• Develop and maintain financial models, Power BI dashboards, and other reporting tools that improve visibility into business performance.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis, and long-term financial planning.
• Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support management decision-making.
• Participate in the month-end close and financial reporting process, including financial statement preparation, selected journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, as required.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and auditor requests.
• Perform other related responsibilities and projects as assigned

About you:

• 5 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting or financial analysis
• CPA working towards or completed is a must
• Power BI is a must
