Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting is partnering with a well-established organization in South Edmonton to hire a Financial Analyst for a 10-month contract starting immediately. The role blends financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and project work within a collaborative finance team.

Candidates with Workday experience are strongly preferred and CPA designation is required. The position calls for 5+ years of accounting or financial analysis, advanced Excel skills, and a track record of improving finance

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial and operational reports to support decision-making.
• Perform variance analysis, identify trends and provide recommendations to improve performance.
• Develop forecasts, financial models, and ad hoc reporting for management.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements and management reporting packs.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Lead finance-related projects, including process improvements and technology initiatives.
• Evaluate current finance processes and implement efficiencies.
• Document policies, procedures, and workflows to support internal controls.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and other finance initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Document policies, procedures, and workflows to support strong internal controls and consistency.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and other finance initiatives as required.

What We’re Looking For

• CPA designation.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis experience.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate complex financial data.
• Workday experience strongly preferred
• Experience improving finance processes and implementing operational efficiencies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
• Experience supporting finance projects, system implementations, or process improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
