Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Carry out monthly communication activities, including journal entries, closing models, invoices validation and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitor, validate and process operating expenses and revenues relating to the Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA).
  • Support Investor Relations with monthly, quarterly and annual variance analyses between CPA data and budget/forecasts/previous years.
  • Generate monthly profit and loss reports, provide variance analyses and participate in report reviews.
  • Assist in planning, preparation and analysis of forecasts, budget and long-term plan.
  • Participate in the pricing process of CPA for the designated area.
  • Provide financial support to management regarding CPA and financial policies and systems.
  • Analyze financial results and evaluate performance using KPIs.
  • Participate in audits and ad hoc evaluation projects.
  • Establish positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners.

We are looking for a talented person to fill the position of Finance Analyst for our dynamic Regional Carriers team. Reporting to the Commercial Partner - Finance, the chosen person will play a key role within the team by supporting various financial information communication activities. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all monthly communication activities, including the preparation of journal entries, the execution of closing models, the validation of invoices through internal analyses and the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, based on a month-end task checklist.
  • As needed, monitor, validate and process operating expenses and revenues relating to the Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA).
  • Support the Investor Relations team in the monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis processes between the data of the capacity purchase agreement and those drawn from the budget, forecasts and results of previous years.
  • Generate monthly profit and loss reports using Air Canada's reporting tools, provide variance analyses and actively participate in the report review process, in accordance with the company's and management's finance and accounting policies and requirements.
  • Play an active role in the planning, preparation and analysis of periodic forecasts, the annual budget and the long-term plan.
  • Actively participate in the pricing process of the capacity purchase agreement for the designated area.
  • Assist the Manager - Financial Services and other team members by offering financial support to management personnel regarding the interpretation and application of the capacity purchase agreement as well as financial and accounting policies, procedures and systems.
  • Analyze financial results; evaluate the performance of assigned areas using key performance indicators and monitor them regularly.
  • Take part in financial audits and ad hoc evaluation projects, as needed.
  • Establish positive and effective working relationships with internal teams, as well as with our external partners.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance or accounting. Accounting designation or Master of Business Administration, an asset.
