Job summary

MacEwan University in Edmonton is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor within the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) for a full-time continuing role. You will provide expert advice on tuition, fees, scholarships, awards, bursaries and student loans to help students understand and plan their finances.

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, you will also manage the SAB programs, assist with enrolment confirmations and guide students through aid regulations while supporting fee services and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in a post-secondary environment providing advice and assistance to clients.
• Experience with registration and student financial accounts.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Providing knowledgeable and accurate advice to students regarding tuition, fees, scholarships, awards, bursaries, and student loans;
• Providing guidance on other financial options available to support students through their post-secondary journey;
• Identifying students in financial crisis and exploring options for Emergency Loan or Bursaries;
• Confirming Federal/Provincial student loans, grants, scholarships, and bursaries to full-time and part-time students;
• Processing confirmations of enrolment in accordance with all federal and provincial aid regulations;
• Setting up, processing, decision making, auditing, dispensing and analytical review of all Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries (SAB) applications in accordance with institutional regulations, terms of reference agreements, endowment agreements, and policies and procedures;
• Providing back up and coverage for cashiering and general fee services; and
• Supporting fee services with troubleshooting student accounts and financial aid inquiries.
