Job summary

Tru Cooperative Bank in Chilliwack, BC seeks a Financial Advisor (Trainee) to deliver exceptional member service by offering deposits, investments and complex lending solutions. The role focuses on identifying life stages and providing tailored financial guidance, while managing a member portfolio and supporting branch objectives.

You will develop relationships, process a wide range of transactions, and participate in cross-sell and referrals to support branch goals.

Qualifications

• College diploma (2 years) in related discipline or equivalent.
• Mutual Funds License required; PFP is an asset.
• Must complete the internal Tru Cooperative certification program within the required timeframe.
• 2 years in a Member Advisor role, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to identify needs and recommend products and services to members.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and solve problems using common sense.
• Proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
• Proficient in computer software e.g. Microsoft Office and banking software programs.
• Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Member Service: Builds strong relationships with members and provides financial advice or referrals.
• Member Transactions: Processes complex transactions including loans, mortgages, RRSPs and investments.
• Branch Goals: Supports annual sales and referral targets through proactive cross-sell.
• Branch Support: Performs administrative duties including loan applications and credit investigations.
• Other duties as required by branch leadership and to maintain a remarkable member experience.
