Every week, we process hundreds of thousands of pages of documents, saving our customers hours of manual processing time and helping them process medical claims more efficiently.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial and accounting processes for Wisedocs. This includes accounts payable and receivable, payroll, monthly bookkeeping, and month-end & year-end accounting and reconciliation tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, judgment, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate daily financial operations for the company.
  2. Review, prepare, and process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  3. Lead financial audit preparations and respond to auditors' requests.
  4. Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Review financial controls and accounting policies regularly.
  6. Implement and monitor financial controls and internal accounting procedures.
  7. Develop and maintain various financial reports on an ongoing basis.
  8. Assist in preparing and developing budget proposals and models.
  9. Monitor account activity to ensure accuracy and validity of transactions, in accordance with GAAP.
  10. Respond to queries from internal staff and external stakeholders regarding financial issues.
  11. Reconcile procurement card transactions monthly, including credit card transaction allocation.
  12. Administer employee compensation, liaising with external payroll providers as needed.
  13. Assist Program Directors and Supervisors with financial monitoring.
  14. Manage expense accounts, timesheets, travel, vacation schedules, and budgets.
  15. Support purchases, invoices, and expenses.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  2. Experience at a major accounting audit firm is preferred.
  3. At least 2 years of experience in accounting/financial management and administrative roles.
  4. Knowledge of standard accounting practices, audit management, account administration, and bookkeeping.
  5. Financial or accounting designation is an asset.
  6. Exceptional accuracy and confidentiality.
  7. High attention to detail and organization skills.
