Job summary

ILSC Education Group in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Finance Specialist to oversee bookkeeping under the Accounting Manager and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, laws, standards, and company policies.

You will manage full cycle bookkeeping, ERP interfaces (NetSuite and Business Central), reconciliations, AP support, and assist with month-end and year-end close. The role offers comprehensive health benefits and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite or Business Central is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel, with pivot table skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle bookkeeping.
  • Oversee ERP accounting interfaces (NetSuite, BC).
  • Handle credit card administration, reconciliations, postings, and accruals.
  • Post recurring entries and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with accounts payable and vendor setup.
  • Support month-end and year-end close and ad-hoc tasks.

Role: Finance Specialist
Reports to: The Accounting Manager
Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Finance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping of the company and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, standards, and company policies.

Job Duties

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of full cycle bookkeeping
  • Managing interfaces between ERP and accounting system (NetSuite/ Business Central)
  • Credit card administration, reconciliations, posting and accrual.
  • Posting of recurring entries
  • Reconciliations of multiple bank accounts
  • Reconciliations of prepaids and accruals
  • AP support when required.
  • Vendor creation and Invoice processing
  • Assist with sessional and year end closing.
  • Completing Ad hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in accounting, Finance is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an accounting role.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite or Business central experience is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with the ability to create accurate excel spreadsheets and pivot tables.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Compensation: $50,000 per annum
  • Comprehensive health benefits through SunLife, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as participation in the company’s RRSP matching program. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
