Job summary

ILSC Education Group in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Accounting Clerk to manage day-to-day AR tasks in a hybrid work setting. You will process payments, prepare invoices, reconcile ledgers, and maintain accurate financial records.

The role requires solid accounting knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency with MS Office and accounting software such as NetSuite and Oracle. Two years of related experience is preferred; a post-secondary accounting program is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
  • Keep financial records and balance accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Role: Accounts Receivable Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Financial Planning and Analysis, Manager

Location: Toronto, Ontario – Hybrid

Description:
As a member of the Accounts Receivable accounting team, the AccountsReceivable Accounting Clerk is responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable duties including but are not limited to; ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenueby verifying and posting receipts.

Job Duties:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data
  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (Net Suites Oracle)
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
Education and Experience Required:
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education preferably inbookkeeping, accounting or related field or Completion of two years (firstlevel) of a recognized professional accounting program (ex. CharteredAccounting, Certified General Accounting) or equivalent working experience
  • 1-2 years administrative office/customer service experience is required
  • Previous accounts receivable and/or accounting experience is preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: $50,000 per annum
  • Comprehensive health benefits through SunLife, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as participation in the company’s RRSP matching program. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
